Method of treatment

In case of ordinary proton therapy for breast cancer, the breast can easily change shape and shift, causing a problem of accuracy of the irradiation. Also, there is risk of side effects caused by the proton beams because of proximity to vital organs. As a solution to these problems, our system uses a special fixator that holds the entire breast securely in place and further away from the body. Furthermore it reduces the movement of tumor by respiration.

Patient positioning device

The device rotates the patient to a prone position where the breast hangs down from the body. 180° rotation is possible, adjustable in units of 0.01°. The patient is securely fixed to a self-propelled treatment table with vacuum lock cushions and belts. *A patent has been applied for.

Transportation system for an immobilized patient

The patient can easily be transported to CT, MRI, or the operating table, for instance, while still precisely secured in place. The gas-powered unit moves in four directions and is made of non-magnetic material that is safe for use in the MRI room. *A patent has been applied for.

 
 

Shape acquisition device

The device collects three-dimensional data of the breast in a prone position in order to make a breast fixator that matches the breast shape of the patient. The wireless device allows for safe and smooth data collection.

 

Fixator mounting device

Four movable axis and a laser pointer allow the device to correctly position and attach the fixator to the patient's breast. *A patent has been applied for.

Breast fixation system

The system can fixate the prone position shape ofthe breast and hold it even when the patient is in a supine position. A unique breast fixator is prepared for every patient, made of MRI compatible resin. The inside of the breast fixator is covered with a strong but harmless adhesive layer to attach it to the breast. *A patent has been applied for.
