Provide a solution
-
As a food business operator, I want to fully comply with HACCP.
-
I want to perform histamine measurements at any location.
-
I want to manage safe and secure food management with numerical data.
Product features
No specialized knowledge or special equipment is required.
Anyone can easily measure histamine.
No specialized equipment such as laboratories or optical analysis devices is required. We have achieved a size that can be used in procurement, acceptance, and production sites. The measurement method is simple; just drop the extraction liquid onto the enzyme sensor chip. Even those who are not professionals can perform the tests.

Measurement can be completed in a short time of 3 minutes per sample.*
Histamine measurements can typically be completed in 3 minutes per sample.*
This can also help save time during re-testing.
*Excludes sample preparation time.

Achieving overwhelmingly low costs compared to measurements at external testing facilities.
Compared to the measurement costs of external testing facilities, which range from 10,000 to 15,000 JPY per test, Comilu achieves a significant reduction in running costs: under 1,000 JPY per test for the compression method suitable for single samples, and 400 JPY per test for the centrifugal separation method suitable for multiple samples.

High Reliability
〇 Jointly developed technology by the National Research and Development Agency, Fisheries Research and Education Agency, and Kanagawa Institute of Technology, a private educational institution.
Fujidenolo and the Fisheries Research Center (currently the Fisheries Technology Institute under the Fisheries Research and Education Agency) jointly developed a freshness sensor (ATP concentration sensor), establishing the foundation for the enzyme sensing system. Comilu is a histamine measurement device that applies this system.
〇 High correlation with HPLC method measurement results
By using the highly active histamine-degrading enzyme developed by Kanagawa Institute of Technology, a high current response to histamine concentration was achieved. As a result of joint research with the National Research and Development Agency, Fisheries Research and Education Agency, it was demonstrated that the measurement values of Comilu for histamine, developed by our company, show a high correlation with the standard HPLC method for histamine concentration measurement.
〇 Histamine Concentration Measurement Using Electrochemical Technology
Comilu is a histamine concentration measurement device that applies highly active enzyme components and electrochemical technology. The enzyme sensor chip used for measurement contains an enzyme that breaks down histamine, immobilized in a membrane form. Comilu electrochemically measures the dissolved enzyme concentration consumed during the reaction between the sample and the enzyme, and calculates the histamine concentration.
〇 Compatible with Various Fish and Seafood Product Samples
Not only raw fish but also various processed seafood products are subject to histamine management. At Fujidenolo, it has been confirmed that histamine can be measured in a wide range of processed seafood products, such as canned fish containing seasonings like miso or dried bonito flakes, by adjusting sample pretreatment and measurement conditions.
*Note: In some processed foods with high levels of additives or fermented foods, the diffusion rate of the enzyme in the sample solution may be reduced, requiring extended measurement times or dilution of the sample solution. Additionally, in samples with significant spoilage, enzyme reactions may be inhibited, potentially resulting in underestimation of histamine concentrations.
Histamine Quantification Method
We have developed the technology to accurately quantify the concentration of histamine in samples through joint research with the National Research and Development Agency, Fisheries Research and Education Agency, Fisheries Technology Institute, and Kanagawa Institute of Technology, a private educational institution.
〇 Measuring Histamine Concentration in Samples Using Enzymes and Oxygen Concentration
Histamine in the sample solution undergoes the following reaction with the histamine-degrading enzyme (histamine oxidase: HOD):
Histamine + Oxygen + Water → Imidazole Acetaldehyde + Hydrogen Peroxide + Ammonia
Since histamine and oxygen are consumed in the enzymatic reaction, the amount of oxygen consumed can be used to quantify the histamine concentration in the sample.
